UV netters bag titles in Wilson All-Student tilt
NETTERS from the University of the Visayas (UV) clinched two titles in last weekend’s Wilson All Students Tennis Tournament held at the Citigreen Tennis Resort in barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
Norman Joseph Enriquez, who has given UV several tennis titles already, added to his count the College Men’s title via an 8-3 thrashing of University of Cebu’s Paulo Loreto.
Accounting for UV’s second title was Venz Alforque, who routed Silliman University’s Giulian Antonio Bandoquillo, 8-2.
The College Women’s title was contested by netters from the University of San Carlos with Zethley Mae Alferez relegating Shyne Villareal to the runner-up position, 8-4.
Green Garden Christian School’s Tiffany Claire Nocos thoroughly outclassed UV’s CJ Thalia Suson, 8-1, for the Secondary Girls title.
The tournament was organized by coach Fritz Tabura with the support of Citigreen and Cebu City Councilor Eugenio Jun Gabuya.
