President Duterte to grace Team Libre’s grand rally in Lapu-Lapu
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu—President Rodrigo Duterte will join the grand rally of Team Libre of Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
This was confirmed by Chan on his Facebook page.
Team Libre earlier planned to hold a grand rally on Sunday, March 27, 2022, but the group canceled it due to this development.
“Subo lang pamalandungon nga dili mahinayon ang gikatakda nga schedule sa atong grand rally sa March 27 pero malipayon nakong ipahibalo kaninyo nga ato na kining gi-move karong March 31, 2022, adlawng Huwebes sa luyo sa Menzi o kilid sa old bridge,” Chan said.
“Ato kining gibuhat pagkahuman kita makadawat ug tawag gikan sa Presidential Assistant for the Visayas Secretary Michael Dino ug sa kumpirmasyon sa Malacañang nga makatambong gyud ang atong halandong Presidente Rodrigo Roa Duterte nga tuyong modapit dinhi para mahimamat sa iyang pamilya sa PDP-Laban,” he added.
Since the start of the campaign period for local candidates last Friday, March 25, 2022, candidates in Lapu-Lapu City have started their campaign sorties.
Chan held a caravan on Olango Island that started at Barangay Sta. Rosa and ended in Barangay San Vicente.
Thousands of Team Libre supporters joined the activity.
In the evening, a grand rally was also held in front of the mini Hoops Dome of Olango Island.
Meanwhile, Team Deretso of Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Paz Radaza held a kick-off sortie in Barangay Gun-ob on Friday.
The following day, March 26, the group held a caravan that started at Ylaya Pag-ambakan road in Barangay Marigondon and ended at the Marina Mall in Barangay Pusok.
“Mao nang niingon gyud ko sa Oponganon sa atong message nga the Team Deretso, is whole heartedly supporting the whole Oponganon. Makita ang kausaban sa Team Deretso,” Radaza said.
