CEC-A/ACY Shipping-Koi Herbal pocketed a second straight victory with a 47-37 spanking of Batch 2000 last Saturday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 15th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Robin Chu scored 10 points, while Paul Cabellon and Juan Carlo Espada each had nine markers as CEC-A got a good follow-up of its opening-day win over 1988/Dewfoam, 61-54.
Howard Haw provided CEC-A with the defensive muscle as he came away with four blocked shots while adding four points and four rebounds.
Oliver Boltron scored 12 points, Lorenz Azzaraga pitched in 11 in Batch 2000’s second loss in as many games.
The defeat spoiled the strong showing of Pimco Pimentel and Barry Climaco, who both scored six points, while also grabbing 11 rebounds apiece.
In the other game, CEC B-PTT/Roadstar recovered from an opening-day loss by downing CEC-C/ATS Aljhune Tinsmith/NST Rubbers, 62-58.
Roger Donayre Jr. and Rex Allinson topped CEC-B with 15 and 10 markers, respectively.
CEC-C, which dropped to 0-2 (win-loss), was led by Joseph Aljhune Areja, who tallied 20 markers.
