CEBU CITY, Philippines — The Police Regional Office in Central Visayas (PRO-7) said 187 of its personnel are currently infected with COVID-19 virus.

Police Brigadier General Ronnie Montejo, PRO-7 director, said that out of 187 personnel who were infected, 178 are still in their respective isolation centers while nine are hospitalized.

With this, Montejo reminds his personnel to always observe the imposed health protocols of their respective areas of jurisdiction.

He encourages his personnel to be vaccinated should there are allocations intended for them. If there are no available vaccines yet in their respective Local Government Units (LGU), Montejo encourages them to visit PRO-7 since they have available vaccines from the Department of Health as of this posting.

In Cebu City alone, Police Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office, said that 90 percent of their total police force are already vaccinated. Of the 90 percent, 70 percent are fully vaccinated.

Cebu City has at least 1,200 personnel.
