In 1907, a woman by the name of Margarita Frasco or Titay began baking her then nameless biscuits in her clay oven. Corazon “Azon” Frasco, the wife of one of the next generation of Frascos, saw how people loved Titay’s biscuits and was the one who brought the baked goodies closer to Cebuanos as she began distributing to various supermarkets and malls. 107 years later, Titay’s golden brown biscuits have now become a favorite delicacy that every Cebuano knows as Rosquillos.
Last August 27, Mutya ng Pilipinas winners, Eva Psychee Patalinjug (Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia Pacific International), Patrizia Bosco (Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Communities), Glennifer Perido (Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism International), and Cristine Racel (Mutya ng Pilipinas 1st Runner-Up), paid a visit to Titay’s to strengthen and add value to their common advocacy to continually uphold the ideal of the “Filipina with a social consciousness.” After which, they took their time to share words of encouragement and hope to the children of Asilo de la Milagrosa.
For almost half a century, bringing Filipina beauty to a worldwide platform has always been the thrust by which the entire Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization fulfills its purpose. In this light, Titay’s joins the Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization in serving as a vehicle to promote everything that is beautiful in the Filipina and the Philippines.
