CEBU CITY, Philippines — A bigger and grander Season 2 of the DEO ET Patria-Ballers Club “Liga ng mga Kuya” will unfold on Oct. 16, 2022 at the Cordova municipal sports complex.

Season 2’s 17 competing teams eclipsed last September’s Season 1’s 14 teams, making it the biggest basketball league of the Fraternal Order of Eagles-Philippine Eagles in the Central Visayas region.

The league’s chairman Ricky Verdida; former team owner of the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup champions, the KCS Computer Specialists-Mandaue City; recently announced that they were aiming to make this league bigger.

One of their main objectives before announcing Season 2’s official date and venue is to make this league a region-wide competition.

In Season 1, the Agape Zubu Eagles Club defeated the Dagami Legends, 75-55, in the championship match at the Cebu City Sports Institute in Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City. Fernando Desturia of the champion team was named the league’s inaugural finals “MVP.”

Leading the list of competing teams for Season 2 is the reigning champions, the Agape Zubu Eagles Club along with runners-up, the Dagami Legends. The rest of the teams are Kadaugan Centurions Eagles Club, CVR5 Team 1 Brotherhood, Datu Lapu-Lapu Eagles Club, Grand Maktan eagles club, Cebu Elites Marksman Eagles Club, Mantaue Sugbo Eagles Club, CVR5 Team 2 Unity, Isla Mactan Ecozone Eagles Club, Kadaugan Elite Eagles Club, Talisay Eagles Club, CVR5 Team 3 Service, Cordova Coast Eagles Club Team Lousy, CVR10 Cebu Peacemakers Eagles Club, Golden Mactan Eagles Club, and the Rajah Humabon Eagles Club.

The rest of the organizers are comprised of Assam Aurita (vice chairman), Jake Montilla (commissioner), and Gerome Camaongay (secretary). There will be a parade of teams and presentation of muses during the opening ceremony on Sunday.
