LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu- Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan has joined calls to return the Sinulog 2024 ritual showdown at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

Chan said that moving the Sinulog celebration at CCSC will give convenience, especially to the devotees of Senior Sto.

Nino para managkot,” Chan said.

Earlier, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia said that the Provincial Government would support the Sinulog 2024 celebration if the activity would be held at CCSC.

The Governor even offered to donate P20 million to the Sinulog Foundation if they would do so.

Acting Cebu City Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia had said that he agrees with Garcia on the need to bring Sinulog activities back at CCSC.

In a social media post, Chan said it was best if Sinulog activities are held close to the Basilica.

I concur with Gov.

And while they enjoy the festivities, Chan is urging devotees not to forget to light candles, offer prayers to the Senior Sto. Niño, and be grateful for the blessing that they have received.
