CEBU CITY, Philippines— Over a hundred participants will compete in the first KC46 National Push Bike Championships at the Jamestown in Mandaue City, Cebu on December 16 to 17, 2023.

The major push bike race will feature some of the best young kid racers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, according to noted push bike organizer Keken Cabahug of the KC46 Racing Development.

According to Cabahug, the local push bike community is excited to hold the race, which will showcase push bike talents of young kids.

Cabahug said the race is also a perfect way to promote sports for kids and keep them away from too much gadget use.

“This race is to raise awareness among kids about the impact of excessive gadget use, that’s a commendable initiative. It’s great to see events promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for children like push bike,” said Cabahug.

Cabahug revealed that push bike has been gaining popularity throughout Asia and has already started to gain attention in Cebu.

The race is a perfect way to further promote this newly introduced sports racing that mainly caters to toddlers.

“Push bike racing is currently popular across Asia, compared to its status in Cebu when it started. Here in Cebu the community is getting bigger late this year because of KC46 Push bike events that held every month for the kids. The push bike community is excited for this major event, particularly kids and parents,” Cabahug explained.

Cabahug, a seasoned circuit rider and mountain bike rider, is amazed at how this one-of-a-kind sport has grown through the years.

He recently shares how he came to start organizing push bike races in Cebu.

“I started to train for motorcycle races, and then it came out I found another skill me training a kid into a pocket bike, which is a small motorcycle,” Cabahug said.

“Then one day I bought a Push Bike for my daughter and I realized there’s a lot of pushbikers here in Cebu. I posted it on social media then it’s the start for growing the push bike community here in Cebu,” he added.

Through his efforts, push bike has been one of the more famous races around the Cebu province.
