SM Supermalls and the Commission on Elections (Comelec) signed a memorandum of agreement to open all 52 SM Supermalls as an alternative venue for “No Bio, No Boto,” a voters biometrics registration program that will run from July to September.
The partnership aims to provide a convenient biometrics registration place for the public, most especially for persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
Comelec Chairman Andy Bautista said the poll body decided to bring this service to malls to help some voters who find it “difficult” to register in their local Comelec offices.
“No one now will have an excuse as to why they should not validate their biometrics,” Bautista said.
SM City Cebu will open its Comelec booth on July 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Event Center located at the lower ground floor of the main mall.
The voters biometrics registration is intended for the residents of Cebu City.
Registrants may bring valid government identification card with present address.
