Waterfront Cebu opens city’s first vaccination site in a hotel

In support of the Cebu city government’s ongoing city-wide vaccination program, the premier city hotel, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, officially opens the city’s 7th and only vaccination site in a hotel, dubbed as the “Waterfront Bakuna Center”, during a soft launching ceremony and media walk-through on August 10, Tuesday.

The intimate launching was attended by Cebu City Acting Mayor Mike Rama, Vaccination Operating Council and Cebu City Health Officer Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, Cebu City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Deputy Implementer Joel Garganera, Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino hotel manager Benhur Caballes, staff of the city health department and the Cebu city government, and members of the media.

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino General Manager Anders Hallden, in his welcoming message, thanked the various local government units including the Cebu City government, the Emergency Operations Center, the Department of Health, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Gatchalian Family for making the corporate social responsibility project happen.

With the opening of the hotel as the newest vaccination site, Waterfront Cebu hopes that it will be able to contribute and ramp up the city’s vaccination program and inoculate as many Cebuanos as possible per day and help hasten the city’s ultimate goal of achieving “herd community” and ensure population protection here in Cebu. In fact, the hotel is eyeing to administer 500 vaccines to start with and work up to as much as 1500 vaccinees daily.

The newly-opened Waterfront Bakuna Center is composed of seven (7) steps, as required by the Cebu City Vaccination Operation Center: Step 1: Verification, Step 2: Encoding, Step 3: Vital Signs, Step 4: Consultation, Step 5: Vaccination, Step 6: Encoding, and Step 7: Monitoring.

As a token of gratitude for taking part in the vaccination program, all vaccinees in the hotel gets to receive light snacks as they make their exit.

To get the chance to be vaccinated at the city hotel, you may register at pabakunata.com. All you have to do is fill up the application form with the necessary details, and after which, wait for a confirmation text message for your vaccination schedule. Make sure to bring with you your valid identification cards and other necessary documents such as medical certificate, certificate of employment, proof of residence and the like.
