CEBU TENPIN Bowling Association’s (Cetba) much awaited “Bowler of the Year” tournament will be held today at the SM City Cebu Bowling Center.
A total of 28 bowlers will be joining the competition, headed by 2011 Bowler of the Year Docdoc Gothong, who is also the vice president of Cetba.
Also competing are Jerry Davis and national team member Jomar Jumapao.
Gothong topped the December Bowler of the Month tournament while Davis won the January and Jumapao the September titles.
The rest of the monthly champions who will compete today are Lauren Brian Sy (November), Sonia Gakenholz (October), Micmic Miranda (August), Ging Francisco (July), Jericho Jumapao (June), Marvin Sevilla (May), Noel Marquez (April), Fred Torrequemada (March) and Rey Velarde (February).
There will also be 16 other competitors who qualified based on the points system of Cetba’s bowler of the month tournaments.
Some of these bowlers finished as runners up.
The champion of the tournament will win P4,500, the second placer gets P3,500, while P2,500 goes to the third placer.
The tournament proper kicks off at 2 p.m.
