Ahong reports 51.47% vaccination rate
MANDAUE CITY, Cebu — Lapu-Lapu City is close to achieving the 70 percent vaccination target.
Mayor Junard Chan reported that as of Saturday, September 11, they already achieved a 51.74 percent rate.
“Atong gipaningkamotan nga makamugna kita og lain-laing paagi para mas mapadali ang atong pagkompleto sa 70 percent vaccination rate ug para mabalik na ta sa normal,” he said in a social media post.
(We are working hard to come up with different means to hasten the completion of the 70 percent vaccination so that our lives could all go back to normal.)
“Walay kahumanan ako nga magpasalamat sa tanang migahin sa ilang oras nga mamahimong kabahin sa global solution nga gikinahanglan gayud karon pinaagi sa pagpabakuna,” he added.
(I am very grateful to all those who found time to be part of the global solution [to this COVID-19 pandemic] by having themselves vaccinated.)
Chan said he was proud to announce that Lapu-Lapu City was also among the top localities in Central Visayas in terms of vaccination rate.
This is a result of the opening of six vaccination sites at the Hoopsdome, Island Central Mall, City Auditorium, Waterfront Airport Hotel, Marigondon National High School and the Mactan Newtown.
In addition, the city’s Mobile Vaccination Clinic also visits the different barangays to reach more vaccinees especially the Oponganons who are bedridden.
Chan said that they would also be launching the city’s drive-thru vaccination campaign on Monday, September 13.
