NBA Finals: Nuggets take 2-1 lead
The Denver Nuggets have regained the lead in the NBA Finals after logging a 109-94 win in Game 3 on Wednesday night (Thursday morning, Philippine time) in Miami.
Nikola Jokić had another outstanding performance, finishing with a triple-double of 32 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists as the Western Conference champion Nuggets take a 2-1 lead in this best-of-seven series.
Jamal Murray led the way with 34 for Denver.
Typhoon Chedeng – live updates
MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Cyclone Chedeng intensified into a typhoon on Thursday, according to state meteorologists.
Chedeng was located 935 kilometers east of Central Luzon carrying maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (kph) with gustiness reaching up to 150 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
P10.5 million budget for Cebu City Independence Day celebration is not a waste of money — city administrator
The P10.597 million budget that Cebu City has allotted for this year’s celebration of Independence Day has raised not a few eyebrows with some calling it a waste of money.
But according to Cebu City administrator Lawyer Collin Rosell, it’s not a waste of money because it is a celebration of the bravery of our ancestors who offered their lives so that we can attain the freedom that we are enjoying today.
Councilor Nestor Archival openly expressed his sentiments against the budget saying the city could have used it to feed the hungry.
Archival added that he fears bad karma would befall the city due to its impractical use of much-needed cash in celebrating Independence Day.
Rama on court’s decision on Compania Maritima dispute: It’s not over ’till it’s over
The Regional Trial Court Branch 10 in Cebu City granted the complaint filed by the Cebu Port Authority (CPA) for quieting of title involving the disputed Compania Maritima.
However, Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama said the legal battle is far from over adding that his legal team will be reviewing the decision and take it from there.
