LAPU-LAPU CITY, Philippines — Lapu-Lapu City employees may not receive a Charter Day bonus on the city’s 61st Charter Day anniversary on June 17, 2022.

However, Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan said they might win a  55 inch smart television and refrigerators among other prizes during an online raffle for city hall employees on that day.

Chan said he planned to hold that online raffle on charter day.

He said that he could not promise yet if the city could be able to give charter day bonuses to city hall employees.

The mayor said that he would need to look into the city’s funds first, especially since they did not have an approved 2022 annual budget yet.

“Bag-ohay lang ta naghatag og mga bonuses no, so tan-awon nato sa atong panudlanan hilabi na nga wala pata’y approved budget for the 2022,” Chan said.

(We had just recently released bonuses, so we have to look at the city’s coffers especially now that we don’t have yet an approved budget for 2022.)

“So on 17th of June, naa ta’y pa-raffle nga wala nato ma-raffle pag December,” Chan added.

He added that the mechanics of the raffle draw will be posted on his Facebook Page.
