Mandaue stabbing claims life of 49-year-old man
A man was killed in a stabbing incident in Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City on Monday dawn, August 21, 2023.
The man was identified by police as 49-year-old Roger Arellano Perez, who is a native of Barangay Mantuyong but currently resides in Barangay Guinsay, Danao City, Cebu.
Indian med student dies in road accident in Balamban, Cebu
A road accident in Balamban town, western Cebu claimed the life of an Indian medical student last Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Police in Balamban confirmed that a road accident involving a motorcycle occurred along Transcentral Highway past 8 p.m. on Sunday.
The driver was a 23-year-old Indian male, namely Sorya Jaya Ayodhya, who is in Cebu to pursue medicine.
Fuel price hike set on Tuesday, August 22
The pump prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene are set to increase on Tuesday, August 22, several oil companies announced on Monday.
In separate advisories, Petron Corp., Seaoil Philippines Inc, and Cleanfuel all said that they will increase the price of diesel by P0.20 per liter and gasoline by P1.10 per liter.
Petron and Seaoil likewise announced an P0.70 per liter increase in the price of kerosene.
Hacking in Badian: Birthday party turns bloody
A birthday party almost ended in a bloody tragedy when a man hacked another man in Badian town, southern Cebu last Sunday, August 20, 2023.
Police arrested a 64-year-old man for allegedly hacking multiple times another 64-year-old man in Barangay Taytay, Badian.
The suspect was identified as Roberto Vecin Samontañes.
